Web3 Product Design for DeFi Staking Platform

DaFi Protocol is an innovative Web3 platform that blends advanced staking mechanics with decentralized finance to offer users secure and dynamic earning opportunities. With the launch of the SuperStaking App and its evolution into a Hybrid Exchange, DaFi aimed to provide users with a seamless experience that combines high-yield staking, token utilities, and intuitive DeFi access. The goal was to design a user-centric interface that simplifies complex crypto functionality for both beginner and experienced users. This project included the full design scope of the platform’s staking interface, brand communication, and overall digital experience, resulting in a product that balances performance, clarity, and functionality.

DaFi Protocol empowers users to earn rewards through a synthetic staking model, offering long-term sustainability and dynamic incentives in DeFi. As the project evolved from its early vision into a full-featured staking dApp and Hybrid Exchange, the focus shifted to providing a user experience that is intuitive, fast, and scalable. From SuperStaking mechanics to cross-asset trading infrastructure, every design decision aimed to simplify DeFi for the masses. I was brought in to lead the UI/UX design for both the staking app and the hybrid platform. The goal was to create a modern product that reflected DaFi’s technical sophistication while staying accessible for new users entering Web3. Through collaborative sessions with the CEO and CTO, iterative testing, and competitive analysis, we delivered a clean and engaging interface that made staking and trading feel native to all users. The project’s success was also supported by strong branding, a polished marketing site, and visual consistency across social media and investor materials.

Goals

User-Friendly DeFi Access
The primary goal was to make staking and token utilities within DaFi Protocol approachable and intuitive. By designing clear navigation paths, reducing jargon, and simplifying flows, the platform ensures a seamless experience for both newcomers and experienced DeFi users.

Streamlined Staking Experience
The second goal was to create a focused and efficient staking journey. From SuperPool entry to reward tracking, the platform was designed to make every action feel effortless, eliminating unnecessary friction and guiding users step-by-step.

Brand Consistency Across Ecosystem
The third goal was to unify the product, website, and social presence through a consistent and scalable design system. Typography, color, layout, and interaction patterns were all aligned to strengthen DaFi’s brand across every touchpoint.

Smooth Transition to Hybrid Exchange
The fourth goal was to design with the future in mind, supporting DaFi’s shift from a single staking app to a full hybrid exchange. Every component was built to scale, allowing for new features like token swaps and liquidity management without compromising the core UX.

Role

As the UI/UX & Product Designer, I was responsible for:

  • Leading the design of the SuperStaking App and the transition to a Hybrid Exchange
  • Designing and developing the website from scratch
  • Creating all social media and marketing graphics for platforms like X (Twitter), Telegram, and Medium
  • Crafting a fundraising pitch deck that contributed to a successful raise
  • Collaborating closely with the CEO and CTO throughout the product lifecycle
  • Building a scalable and brand-consistent design system to unify the product and marketing experience

Process

Design Strategy

  • Started with low-fidelity wireframes to map the key staking and exchange user flows
  • Introduced a modular component system that allowed reuse across the SuperStaking interface and the upcoming Hybrid Exchange
  • Applied consistent brand elements across web, social, and pitch content
  • Prototyped interactive flows and tested user expectations around staking duration, returns, and token utility
  • Balanced education and simplicity in onboarding screens to make the product beginner-friendly
  • Maintained weekly review loops with stakeholders to ensure alignment

Competitive Analysis

I explored staking and hybrid exchange solutions in the Web3 space to understand common UX patterns and identify opportunities for differentiation:

  • Lido Finance – Liquid staking with a focus on simplicity and high trust; emphasized ease of onboarding.
  • Rocket Pool – Community-run staking with decentralized node operation; offered flexibility, but with a more technical UX.
  • SushiSwap – Known for its transition into hybrid DeFi services; complex interfaces but highly modular.
  • Balancer – Liquidity pool and trading UX with strong visual emphasis on analytics.
  • Dafi Protocol (internal audit) – Identified gaps in clarity for staking tiers, reward tracking, and liquidity movement.

This structured process helped streamline the experience while maintaining flexibility for the evolving Web3 product roadmap.

Design Elements

The visual identity for DaFi Protocol was crafted to convey a modern, high-performance feel aligned with its position in the DeFi space. A custom logo was created using a grid system to achieve geometric balance and visual harmony. The color palette was selected with intention, vibrant purples paired with electric accent tones to reflect innovation, energy, and trust. Typography plays a key role in the interface, with Poppins used consistently across the platform. Bold weights were applied for headings to ensure hierarchy, while regular weights supported clean, readable body text. A consistent grid system was implemented to unify the layout across all screens, maintaining visual clarity and structure throughout staking dashboards, swap interfaces, and performance charts. The result is a cohesive design language that makes complex DeFi interactions feel intuitive, accessible, and premium.

From Design to Development

From the initial wireframes to final implementation, the entire product design was executed in close collaboration with the CTO and CEO. Each flow was carefully prototyped in Figma, allowing us to align on structure, logic, and visual hierarchy early in the process. I created detailed, developer-ready components and documentation to ensure a smooth handoff and reduce back-and-forth during implementation. By leading the end-to-end process—from research and ideation to interface design and delivery—I was able to maintain consistency across the SuperStaking App, Hybrid Exchange, and the marketing website. This collaborative approach resulted in faster development cycles, high design fidelity, and a unified product experience across all platforms.
